While you are right for a few points/missing features, I think that Canon still sees the 5DMrkII as a still camera first but they know their market is going the HDSLR way and this is going to be big, hence the reason they talk so much about it.

Also, most of the people I meet who talk about the 5D talk about the video, not the stills. This camera is a real hybrid, able to perform awesomely in both field and as much as people are complaining about still features, others are complaining about the video features.

Finally, yes, auto ISO could be improved, has adding more features such as a better bracketing, etc...

I think Canon spends more attention in video than photo features. I am not saying I am not happy about video outstanding capabilities of this camera, but it is a camera, the first purpose is taking pictures, otherwise I would have bought a video camera.

I am not complaining, every improvement is more than welcome, but I wish Canon made efforts also in improving photo features as the possibility to set a minimum shutter speed in auto ISO mode. It is a useful function that can be easily added to an update firmware and competitors have it on several models.

Here below a link to a petition for that, together with another request:

I would like you read and sign it, thanks

I dont know. My guess is that Canon makes more money selling 5D than 7D since people who get the 5D will have a tendency to buy more expensive lenses too...

I will not be surprised if the reason for the delay is to boost sales of the 7d.
